I at Vimoutiers Tigre I à Vimoutiers Photos taken on March 17, 2013 / Photos prises le 17 mars 2013 This tank was part of the the Heavy SS Panzer Abteilung 102 in August 1944 and originally carried the number 231 on the side of its turret. It was abandoned there on 19 August 1944 because of a lack of fuel, and pulled off the road by vehicles of the US Army. It was recovered in 1975. Ce char a appartenu au schwere Panzer Abteilung 102 en août 1944 et portait le numéro 231 sur la tourelle. Il fut abandonné à court d'essence à cet endroit le 19 août 1944, saboté par son équipage et poussé sur le bas-côté de la route par des véhicules de l'US Army. Il fut récupéré en 1975. |
